چکیده
The hydrogen effect on a X65 carbon steel was investigated by tensile tests under both ex-situ and in-situ charging conditions. fractured samples were characterized compared using combination of scanning electron microscopy, backscattering diffraction, energy-dispersive spectroscopy. work highlights that the is necessity for investigation detrimental effects studied material, where pronounced reduction in fracture elongation, evolution secondary cracks gauge surface, corresponding brittle fractography thoroughly after testing. reason resides rapid outgassing effect, which proved Fick's law-based diffusion models. Then interrupted performed to track crack initiation propagation behavior. results show majority initiated at interfaces MnS Al 2 O 3 inclusions or between matrix, attributes elevated stress concentration around inclusions. Moreover, found propagate along {110} slip planes. • Ex-situ H method steel. In-situ more suitable embrittlement. H-induced initiate non-metallic due concentration. transgranular manner

Electrochemical Investigation of the Corrosion of Different Microstructural Phases of X65 Pipeline Steel under Saturated Carbon Dioxide Conditions
The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of metallurgy on the corrosion behaviour of separate weld zone (WZ) and parent plate (PP) regions of X65 pipeline steel in a solution of deionised water saturated with CO2, at two different temperatures (55 °C and 80 °C) and at initial pH~4.0. In addition, a non-electrochemical immersion experiment was also performed at 80 °C in CO2, on ...

متن کاملPrevention of Hydrogen Embrittlement in Steels
The essential facts about the nature of the hydrogen embrittlement of steels have now been known for 140 years. It is diffusible hydrogen that is harmful to the toughness of iron. It follows, therefore, that the harmful influence of diffusible hydrogen can be mitigated by preventing its entry into steel or by rendering it immobile once it penetrates the material. This review deals with the meth...
متن کاملFailure Investigation of Hydrogen Blistering on Low-strength Carbon Steel
The current study assesses the root causes of hydrogen blisters on low strength carbon steel equipment. For this purpose, some experiments including hardness test, non-destructive test (NDT), metallography, and fractograpghy are conducted. The microstructure of two blisters is assessed by means of optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The microstructural studies show that t...
